How to add edible quality skincare into your makeup routine

edible quality skincare

Makeup is decor for the face, but don’t forget that less is more. Makeup shaming is not our thing and it never will be. Your face, your rules. By saying ’less is more’, we simply mean less silicone, less synthetic fragrances, less propylene glycol etc. Much of what we place on our skin absorbs into our bloodstream, so whenever you let synthetic chemicals into your system, you risk getting some unpleasant side effects such as skin irritation, allergies, eczema etc. We know that non-organic makeup products usually perform better, but you can still sneak in some of our edible quality, organic skincare products into your makeup routine. Ready?

Lip balm

Every lipstick lover is familiar with the following scenario: you are at the last step of your makeup routine, namely ’putting on lippies’. You decide to rock that beautiful matte mocha shade that warms up your complexion and gives your makeup the perfect finishing touch but as you glide it on you see freakishly flaky, dry lips that may even crack and bleed. You know that having smooth and soft lips are essential to achieve perfect lip makeup but nothing ever seems to keep your lips naturally luscious.

You know what? Ditch that chapstick and forget glycerine. Lip balms from conventional beauty brands are usually packed with synthetic chemicals that appear to offer a quick fix but with time they actually worsen the problem.  Our lip balms, just like any other product we have, is free of synthetic chemicals but full of love. Let’s take a look at the list of ingredients:

Argan Lip Balm: coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, stevia, water, natural vitamin E, pure argan essential oil

Lavender Lip Balm: coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, stevia, pure lavender essential oil, water, natural vitamin E

Original (coconut) Lip Balm: coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, water, natural vitamin E

*all oils are cold-pressed and extra virgin, every type of butter is raw and unrefined*

They all heal, moisturize and protect the skin. Our CERES certified, extra virgin coconut oil is a miracle worker on its own, but combined with other high-quality, organic ingredients, our lip balms can easily become your skin’s best friend. Pure argan essential oil renews cells and it’s highly effective for treating eczema and psoriasis. Pure lavender essential oil disinfects, heals and soothes the skin.

Other than nourishing your lips to get that perfect looking pout, you can use our lip balms as face primers. Yup, you read that right. They are amazing skin smoothers that also create a barrier between your skin and the foundation. Rub it into your skin gently with your fingers or use a flat brush and apply it with downward strokes.

Lip Scrub

We created this lip scrub for those who are serious about soft lips.

Ingredients: coconut oil, ground cinnamon, almond shells and olive seed grist, beeswax, ground cayenne pepper, cocoa butter, stevia, water, natural vitamin E

Rub the scrub into your lips by using gentle circular motions and leave it on for 2-3 minutes. Almond shells and olive seed grist exfoliate the skin while ground cinnamon and ground cayenne pepper plump your lips to perfection by increasing blood flow. Getting rid of dead skin is a must if you want smooth and soft skin. After exfoliating, apply a thin layer of lip balm to increase moisture in the area, (our lip scrub is sold together with our original lip balm) and now you’re ready for lipstick!

Face Oil

Moisturizing the skin is one of the most important steps in our skincare routine. Moisturizing with oil may sound a bit weird or even freaky to some people but there’s nothing to be afraid of. Oil absorbs as fast as cream and it penetrates deeper into the skin, pampering it to perfection. Our oil blend consists of 5 deeply nourishing and skin balancing oils that your face will be a huge fan of.

Ingredients: coconut oil, wheat germ oil, grape seed oil, argan oil, macadamia oil, natural vitamin E

*all oils are cold-pressed and extra virgin*

This oil blend is amazing for giving yourself a face and neck massage every night. Coconut oil is highly disinfecting and cleansing while moisturizing your skin to the max with its valuable fatty acids. Wheat germ oil is full of antioxidants and phytosterols which help fade scars and blur both age and sun spots. Grape seed oil regenerates collagen tissues by fighting against free radicals, leaving your skin look younger than ever. Argan oil rebalances the skin while macadamia oil and natural vitamin E soften it.

It is suitable for all skin types and all ages. Dry skin will become soft and glowing, the excessive sebum production of oily skin will get under control while the deeper layer of skin gets just the right amount of moisture, mature skin will appear more fresh and youthful, irritated skin will get healed and soothed.

Do you have dry skin that becomes flaky once you apply makeup? Do you get the “reptile”-nose look when you have on foundation? Adding a drop of this oil blend into your foundation will give you a fresh and dewy complexion.

You can mix powder highlighters (especially those with a baked formula) with our oil blend to get that goddess glow. All you have to do is scrape off some of your highlighter onto a metallic surface, add a little drop of oil, mix it with a spatula or with the end of a brush, pat it on to the skin then gently blend it in.

Cleansing & Nutritious Oil

Removing your makeup is the last thing you want to do before bedtime even though you probably know that keeping it on clogs pores that eventually leads to getting blackheads and breakouts. We’re lazy just like you, so we created an oil blend that removes makeup quickly and effectively so you won’t have to spend hours int he bathroom surrounded by a plethora of cleansing products to remove your makeup. Let’s see what’s in our Cleansing&Nutritious Oil:

Ingredients: coconut oil, grape seed oil, tea tree oil, pure lavender essential oil, pure palmrose essential oil, vitamin E

Coconut oil a popular makeup remover because it breaks up even water-resistant substances. Tea tree oil disinfects the skin while lavender essential oil soothes it. Grape seed oil rejuvenates the skin and palmrose essential oil keeps it fresh and young. What’s not to love about this?

Pour some oil into the palm of your hand and literally massage your makeup off. You will see your makeup smudging all over the place. Wash your face with warm water then take a slightly damp cotton pad and remove any residue. Finally, wash your face with ice cold water to close pores and tighten skin.
